Pin

  A collar pin (also known as a collar bar or collar clip) is a piece of men's jewelry that connects the two ends of a dress shirt collar and passes below the knot of a necktie . It works similarly to a tabbed collar in that it holds the collar in place and elevates the knot to produce a more aesthetically pleasing arc to the necktie.  A collar pin is three to five centimeters long and comes in three varieties, A safety pin-like pin that pierces each side of the collar (or passes through the existing eyelet). The latter two types do not necessitate custom collars, however, collar bars are normally not worn with buttoned-down collars and would be unnecessary with tabbed collars.  When employing a collar bar, collar stays are not required.
