How do you use a collar pin?

 

A collar pin (also known as a collar bar or collar clip) is a piece of men's jewelry that connects the two ends of a dress shirt collar and passes below the knot of a necktie. It works similarly to a tabbed collar in that it holds the collar in place and elevates the knot to produce a more aesthetically pleasing arc to the necktie. 

A collar pin is three to five centimeters long and comes in three varieties, A safety pin-like pin that pierces each side of the collar (or passes through the existing eyelet). The latter two types do not necessitate custom collars, however, collar bars are normally not worn with buttoned-down collars and would be unnecessary with tabbed collars. 

When employing a collar bar, collar stays are not required. Collar pins work best with straight, minimally spread collars, least with spread collars, and not at all with extensively spread collars like the cutaway.

A Collar Pin has two functions. First and foremost, it is intended to pull your collar tabs closer together, giving your collar a highly unique and distinct appearance. Second, it elevates your tie knot, allowing it to stand out more. Collar pin are not suitable for all shirt collars. Most forward point collars, such as the one, will work perfectly. And, in perspective, club collars were designed just for collar pins.

Collar bars, unlike some other men's accessories we've seen, have a practical function in that they elevate your tie from your chest, making them vital for their aesthetic presence as well as their utilitarian contribution. Collar bars are used to connect the two sides of your shirt collar. 

They are utilized to raise the look of your tie by lifting it up from your chest. This elevated design produces a distinct arc between your chest and the top of your tie, giving you an unmistakably strong appearance. Collar pin resemble ordinary safety pins, however, they are specifically made for shirt collars.
